Sylibum Marianum
Silybum marianum, commonly known as "milk thistle," is a flowering plant native to the
Mediterranean region, including parts of Albania
Milk thistle is a tall, spiky plant with distinctive spiny leaves marked with
milky-white veins. It produces pink to purple flower heads with spiky bracts.
The seeds of milk thistle contain a compound called silymarin, which is believed to have
antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties. It is commonly used in supplements or
herbal teas for liver support.
